TENOHA & | WORKSHOP: Kintsugi
Kintsugi is one of the most beautiful and significant arts in Japan. We are talking about real-life teaching that should be followed at all times.
Usually, when a vase or a cup breaks they end their life because they are thrown away. Kintsugi does not think so, Japan has great teaching to give us in this situation. The broken object becomes an important part of the life of the object itself. They are not an end, but from the moment in which they are fixed with gold, they remember these broken parts.
Every mistake in our life, every break, everything we could see as an end is instead a teaching and a new beginning. This is what Kintsugi means, “to repair with gold”. The Japanese have always been used to repair broken objects with gold so that the fracture was easily visible.
TENOHA MILANO, together with Mariangela Zabatino who is a ceramist in her atelier Anima Mundi, proposes a workshop that can be not only a teaching but also a special memory. We as always won’t miss it, we are waiting for you at TENOHA Milano to try out another special experience of Japanese tradition!
