Let’s take a closer look at the BUNKA ACADEMY of TENOHA MILANO!
Would you like to learn more about Japanese culture and its creative spirit? TENOHA Milano offers you this possibility with a series of new workshops and master classes.
What’s better than learning Japanese culture and having the chance to win wonderful prizes in the Japanese corner in Italy that is TENOHA Milano?
BUNKA ACADEMY
The word Bunka 文化 means culture is true, but if we want to look deeper, it has the meaning of personal knowledge that can influence others.
TENOHA Milano offers weekly courses that encourage us to discover Japanese culture and craftsmanship.
Let’s take a closer look at what BUNKA ACADEMY proposes:
SAKE MASTERCLASS
Let’s start with one of the sensory beauties that Japan offers us: sake. The most important Japanese alcoholic beverage deserves more than a simple taste, but a real knowledge. There are four different paths to get to know Sake. Even those who are less experienced can enjoy a unique sensory experience and feel in Japan!
JAPANESE LESSON
Feel like spending a day in Tokyo expressing yourself in Japanese? Thanks to the virtual tour in Japan you can do it and feel completely immersed in the reality of the Rising Sun! The Japanese language is also and above all culture. Grammar, Japanese terms, everything that makes you fly to Tokyo!
CHA NO YU
Serving tea in Japan is a true art known with the term of Cha No Yu (茶の湯, literally “hot water for tea”), one of the oldest and most distinctive arts, something you won’t find anywhere else!
SHIBORI
Here is another of the oldest Japanese traditions that consists of a series of manipulations to the fabric using threads, elastic bands and pieces of wood. Then the fabric is immersed in a bath of natural dye to obtain abstract patterns. Surely the result will be unique and will leave you amazed!
KINTSUGI
This is one of Japan’s most beautiful and meaningful arts. Also applied to everyday life, the kintsugi (金継ぎ, literally “repairing with gold”) technique involves welding together the fragments of a broken object using lacquer and gold powder. The resulting object will be something unique and, even in life, remember that scars are not always to be hidden, sometimes you should embellish them.
JAPANESE SPIRITS
The sea, the mountains, the seasons of Japan, the SHUN: that’s what Suntory is all about; Japan’s first malt distillery.
