A testimonianza di questo, oggi parliamo di “Van Gogh e il Giappone” un docufilm esclusivo che sarà nelle sale il 16,17 e 18 settembre.

La trama di “Van Gogh e il Giappone”

Grazie alle lettere dell’artista e alle testimonianze dei suoi contemporanei, questo docufilm rivela l’affascinante storia dell’intenso e viscerale legame tra Van Gogh e l’arte giapponese. Infatti, nonostante Van Gogh non avesse mai visitato questo paese, fu estremamente influenzato nei suoi lavori dall’arte del Sol Levante.
Oltre a indagare la tendenza del Japonisme, Van Gogh e il Giappone ci guiderà attraverso l’arte del calligrafo Tomoko Kawao e dell’artista performativo Tatsumi Orimoto per comprendere appieno lo spirito e le caratteristiche dell’arte del Sol Levante.

Al termine del periodo Edo, nel 1868, il Giappone attraversò una fase di apertura all’Occidente. In questo periodo infatti, Parigi venne inondata di tutto ciò che era giapponese. Dagli oggetti decorativi alle stampe colorate ukiyo-e, e molto altro ancora.

Van Gogh, affascinato da tutti gli elementi di questa straordinaria cultura, si si concentrò sul modo in cui potevano essere adattati alla ricerca di un nuovo modo di vedere. Lesse le descrizioni del Giappone, riempì la sua stanza di stampe e studiò attentamente le opere giapponesi. Le figure femminili nei giardini o sui bagnasciuga, su fiori, alberi e rami contorti attirarono l’attenzione dell’artista. Van Gogh apprezzava di quei lavori linee e purezza compositiva tanto da farne una fonte d’ispirazione imprescindibile per la sua pittura.

In addition to investigating the trend of the Japonisme, Van Gogh and Japan will guide us through the art of the calligrapher Tomoko Kawao and the performative artist Tatsumi Orimoto to fully understand the spirit and characteristics of the art of the Rising Sun.
